"Prior to selecting County Saddlery for my FEI Dressage Horse, I switched from one saddle to another in order to address saddle slip and shoulder interference. An FEI Dressage Horse must demonstrate fluid and harmony in all movements, from collection to extension. Poor saddle fit results in a hollow back, shortened stride, potential pain for your equine partner and gaits that are difficult to sit.
Sara Ivie, my representative for County Saddlery came to my barn with a truck full of saddles for me to try. After trying different models we selected a saddle that seemed to address all of my horse's needs. The good news is that I really liked the quaility of workmanship and the way I sat in the saddle.
My saddle was ordered and built to the specifications established by Sara (a MSA Certified Saddle Fitter). When the saddle arrived, Sara came to my barn to "fine tune" the fit. I now have Sara come to the barn every 6 months to adjust the fit and make sure that everything continues to be optimal for our performance.
So, did it make a difference in my performance. I believe it did! In 2006, my horse won 5 different National Championships in his breed association culminating with being selected as the USDF All Breeds FEI horse of the year for the American Warmblood Society. In 2007 we began to work on moving him up to Grand Prix and in 2008 we have shown him for the first time at Grand Prix.
I continue to believe in County Saddlery and Sara ivie. Her service is second to none."
