Resisting the trend toward cheaper production methods using foam rubber panels and plastic trees, County saddles continue to be painstakingly handmade on our laminated beechwood trees, covered in the world's finest leather, and flocked with pure wool to maximize your horses' comfort and fit. As one of the few saddlery companies in the world which actually make their own trees, our traditional methods take longer and require a higher degree of craftsmanship, but once you sit in a County, we know you will agree that the results are clearly worth it.

"...I received Max's new saddle yesterday.  OH MY GOSH!  I told myself before I saddled him up not to get too excited, that the dramatic difference I got with Jason [in his new County saddle] was probably  not going to happen.  Well, it didn't.  It was even more dramatic!  ...Last night from the moment I got on him, I never ONCE had to ask him to drop his head, because he never even tried to throw his head up and hollow his back.  When I rode him in my [non-County saddle], I was constantly massaging the reins, separating my hands, everything, to get him to get in the right frame.  He was a completely different horse, and I had the best ride on him that I have had since I got him [almost 4 months ago].

...Thanks for all of your help!"

"Prior to selecting County Saddlery for my FEI Dressage Horse, I switched from one saddle to another in order to address saddle slip and shoulder interference.  An FEI Dressage Horse must demonstrate fluid and harmony in all movements, from collection to extension.  Poor saddle fit results in a hollow back, shortened stride, potential pain for your equine partner and gaits that are difficult to sit.

Sara Ivie, my representative for County Saddlery came to my barn with a truck full of saddles for me to try.  After trying different models we selected a saddle that seemed to address all of my horse's needs.  The good news is that I really liked the quaility of workmanship and the way I sat in the saddle.

My saddle was ordered and built to the specifications established by Sara (a MSA Certified Saddle Fitter).  When the saddle arrived, Sara came to my barn to "fine tune" the fit.  I now have Sara come to the barn every 6 months to adjust the fit and make sure that everything continues to be optimal for our performance.

So, did it make a difference in my performance.  I believe it did!  In 2006, my horse won 5 different National Championships in his breed association culminating with being selected as the USDF All Breeds FEI horse of the year for the American Warmblood Society.  In 2007 we began to work on moving him up to Grand Prix and in 2008 we have shown him for the first time at Grand Prix.

I continue to believe in County Saddlery and Sara ivie.  Her service is second to none."

"My County Innovation saddle has made all the difference in my horse's performance! It has eliminated the soreness in his back, improved his gaits and suppleness and made him more willing and happy in his work.  Sara did an excellent job fitting the saddle to him!  I find it to be so comfortable and balanced I use it for all 3 phases."   --Nora Endzel
